You may worry that you won't like the therapist you visit, or that you won't be able to work through your problems, even with a therapist's help. These fears are all common and expected. It's scary to think about baring your soul to someone you don't yet know. BUT-- you should congratulate yourself on having the courage and determination to look for the help you need to maximize your happiness!!
Talking with a therapist who really listens to understand just what you are experiencing, who has an outside perspective, and who has expert knowledge in the areas in which you are struggling can be just what is needed to help you move past the issues that may be keeping you stuck and preventing you from experiencing as much joy in your life as possible. It's important to feel comfortable with your therapist; so when selecting a therapist, I encourage you to call a few and speak with them over the phone.
